Acute Psychiatric Services

This 10 bed unit serves acute and sub acute psychiatric services to persons in recovery. The program includes art, music and movement therapy as well as psychologist who provide individual therapy sessions.   The average length of stay is 10 days.

 

Girard Recovery Center

This twenty-nine (29) bed unit has been designed for individuals returning from Norristown State Hospital to the community.  Focused on community reintegration the unit provides individual and group therapy, creative art therapy and participant center goal settings to facilitate optimal functioning in the community.

 

Extended Acute psychiatric Services

The extended acute unit serves persons in recovery with chronic pervasive mental illness.  The program includes art, music and movement therapy as well as psychologist who provide individual therapy sessions. Persons in recovery remain on the unit for up to three years and are stepped down to LTSR’s- RTFA’s or other supportive mental health facilities. 

 

Outpatient Psychiatric Services

The outpatient Psychiatric Clinic provides medication monitoring, individual and group therapy to persons in recovery with mental health diagnosis.  Serving approximately 300 persons in recovery per month, the unit is staffed by a full time psychiatrist, psychologist and psychology interns.
