Ambulatory Services
SJH offers a broad range of ambulatory care services designed and delivered to meet the multi-cultural needs of patients in this community.  SJH operates various ambulatory care clinics, including primary, specialty and fast track that provided almost 14,000 patient visits in Fiscal Year 1999.  These included primary adult health care and pediatrics, fast track for non-emergent treatment and nineteen (19) specialty clinics, including ENT, podiatry, surgery and orthopedics.

Emergency Service
SJH'sl Emergency Department is classified as a Level II Emergency Center.  The level of care available ranges from the continuation or initiation of advanced life support measures to the assessment and treatment of minor illnesses or injuries or acute exacerbations of a chronic medical condition.  Emergency services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  The facility is staffed by physicians, registered nurses, a physician’s assistant, a nurse practitioner and nursing assistants.  SJH’s emergency department is instrumental in providing medical/surgical admissions.  In Fiscal Year 1999, the emergency department had 14,000 visits of which 3,298 were admitted as medical/surgical patients.  This represents ninety-one percent (91%) of the total medical/surgical admissions for Fiscal Year 1999.
